THE HUB HONG KONG CHILDREN AND YOUTH CENTRE

THE HUB HONG KONG CHILDREN AND YOUTH CENTRE

The Hub Hong Kong is a registered charity in Sham Shui Po, one of the poorest districts in Hong Kong, offering a space where underprivileged kids can learn, develop and grow healthily and happily despite adverse living conditions. Founded in 2013 by two Australians, David Boehm and Bruce Stinson, long-time residents in Hong Kong, they believe that children hold the key to the future and they are committed to offer the same opportunities to those less privileged in Hong Kong. Focusing on our four pillars of service – Education, Empowerment, Development and Family Relief, it is our mission to enrich, embrace and empower disadvantaged children and youth with equal opportunities to become valuable members of our community. Programs we offer range from daily homework guidance, language lessons, STEM, recreational activities like music, art, drama, sports to health and wellness, personal counselling and parenting. We currently care for a community of over 1,200 members annually, including children aged 6-12, youth aged 12-18 and their parents. Through the services we provide, our members benefit from improvement in academic performance, well-being, self-confidence and better family relationships for a healthier and well-balanced upgrowing. As the name implies, The Hub Hong Kong is not just a space where children can learn and play but also a place where they can call their “second home”.

The Hub also has a presence across Asia under “The Hubs of Asia” – including The Hub Hong Kong, The Hub Bangkok (in collaboration with Childline Thailand) and The Hub Yangon, Myanmar (in collaboration with Shwe Ya Min Foundation). Together we share our learnings and resources within our network to help underprivileged children and youth in Asia improve living conditions, break the poverty cycle and pursue their dreams.
